Joy Anicete Sison, 59 years young, of Newark, CA, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, November 13th, 2016 from a ruptured brain aneurysm. She was born in Pampanga, Philippines on October 17, 1957 to late father, Salvador Anicete Sr. and mother, Restituta Lagman Anicete. Joy was the 3rd youngest of 8 siblings. She married Reynaldo Sison on May 15th, 1976. They celebrated their ruby, 40th wedding anniversary this past Spring surrounded by family and friends.

Joy took pride in helping others working for most her life as a caretaker, whether it was for the elderly or for more recently, taking care of children with special needs. In her spare time, she spent her days volunteering at St. Edward's Catholic Church as a Eucharistic Minister and a member of the Legion of Mary, as well as teaching the elderly how to Zumba at the Salvation Army. When she was not volunteering, she spent time socializing with her family and friends. She enjoyed dancing, singing, cooking, and most recently, yoga and hiking with her daughters. She loved to take care of everyone and make sure they were all well fed; hence, giving her the nickname, "Momma Joy."

Joy is survived by her loving husband, Reynaldo Sison, her mother, Restituta Lagman Anicete, her sons, daughters and their spouses, Rejoy and Angela Sison, Jason and Mae Sison, Eddy and Nicest Kang, and Jinjer Sison, as well as her granddaughter, Caroline Sison. She is now home in Heaven with her father, Salvador Anicete Sr., her older sister, Marietta Lagman, her 2nd son, Jake Sison, and granddaughter Élora Kang. Joy's wonderful spirit will be forever remembered, as all those who have met Joy only have fond memories of her.
