Andrew Kalani Bosque Banez -son, friend, cousin, nephew, grandchild, godson,-entered into eternal rest on Saturday, May 6, 2017 in Honolulu, HI. He was 16 years old and a sophomore at University Lab school. He was born on November 11, 2000 to Sheilah Bosque and Alex Banez in San Jose, CA.

When Andrew was 5 years old, he and his parents moved to Hawaii. There he met many of his closest friends who were much like his family. In Hawaii, he learned to enjoy nature hikes and star gazing. He enjoyed spending time with his friends, playing his cello, singing, and dancing goofy.

His cousins, who were all born in the year 2000 were affectionately known as the "dragon boys" and they looked forward to his visit every Summer. They spent their summers skateboarding, cooking, riding bikes, and exploring with their aunts, uncles, and grandparents.

When Andrew was asked to describe himself in a word, he chose "Panda," because he is so cuddly and huggable. Andrew was always known for his sense of humor even without trying. He was an engaging and social teenager who loved good music and movies.

He is survived by his parents, Alex and Sheilah; his paternal grandfather, Arturo; and paternal grandmother, Lolita; his maternal grandfather, Andrew; and maternal grandmother, Alma; aunts and uncles, countless cousins and friends, and his dog, Kali.

Celebration of Life (viewing) will be held at Lima Family Mortuary in Fremont, CA on May 18-19 from 12:00pm to 9:00p. Mass will be held at Five Wounds Catholic Church in San Jose, CA on May 20 at 12:00pm. All are welcome.
