Benedicta Dionisio Magno (affectionately known by family and friends as Bening, and Nanay to children grand and great-grandchildren), 88, passed away on May 13, 2017 in Sacramento, Ca.

Bening was born to Geraldo Dionisio and Petronila Patito on May 6, 1929 in Cardona,Rizal, Philippines. She was the second from the youngest of six children, starting with Julio, Gertrudes, Claudia, Sulficio and Eufracia.

Bening was a stage actress from a small production of Ma Andong Tule. In 1950, she met her future husband, Marcelo Magno Sr, while performing a stage play during a town fiesta in Taytay, Rizal.

Taytay, Rizal became their permanent residence and their union produced eight children. Starting with Virgilio, Venus, Marcelo Jr, Carlos, Precy, Mercelita, Marcelo III and Marvin.

Benedicta was primarily a homemaker and provided great support to her husband while he worked at the Governor's Office of Rizal Province. Benedicta was six months pregnant with Marvin when her husband died in 1964. After Marcelo Sr. passed away, Bening decided to return to her hometown of Cardona, Rizal to raise her family.

Bening, a single parent of six children, she managed and owned a small grocery store in Cardona. She was dedicated and devoted to all her children. While her children were growing up, she worked seven days a week for long hours to make sure she can raise and provide for her children. She was always thinking of the welfare of her children, put all the children's needs before hers.

She then migrated to the US in 1979 and, at the age of 50, worked as an assembler for an electronics company in Sunnyvale, Ca. She retired at 65. She had her share of tragedy, losing her husband, and four of her children. But her love for her family and her faith in God somehow gave her the strength and go on with life without bitterness

A kidney failure led to her undergoing dialysis treatments for twenty-one years. Nanay Bening, You will be walking with God in Paradise. We Love You.

Bening is survived by four children; Marcelo jr, Mercelita, Marcelo III and Marvin. Fifteen grandchildren Vanessa, Jill, Maita, Maricar, Melissa, Paulo, Michael, Leana, Marcel, Marco, Kitkat, Kiana, Marlon, Daniel and Marcus. And the great-grandmother to Holden, DJ, Dash and Mateo.
