Catalino Tablada Collado Jr., known to his beloved family and friends as Romy, was born on June 24th, 1949, in the barangay of Cabuloan, Urdaneta City, in the province of Pangasinan, Philippines. He was the third child of Catalino Consolacion Collado Sr. and Lourdes Tablada Collado, and brother to Virgilio Collado, Rebecca Lorica, and Opilla Lorica.

Romy graduated from the University of Santo Tomas in Manila, Philippines in 1970 with a bachelor's degree in Medical Technology. In 1976, Romy followed his brother Virgilio to California and settled in San Francisco. After three years in San Francisco, he accepted a position at National Semiconductor in Sunnyvale and relocated with his parents and younger sister, Opilla, to San Jose.

Through mutual friends, Romy met the love of his life, Emily, in 1980 at a gathering in the house of his brother, Virgilio. Little did they know at the time, but this house would later become the humble abode where they would plant their roots and live the rest of their lives together. Romy and Emily were married on June 20, 1981. It was his happiest moment. They have two sons, Eric, born in 1982, and Don, born in 1987.

Romy passed away from a sudden heart attack on January 1st, 2018, at his home in San Jose, California. He will forever be remembered as a kind, generous friend and relative, attentive son, assertive brother, devoted husband, and loving father and grandfather.

Romy was a very selfless and hospitable man. He was an avid gardener and took great pride and joy in sharing the fruits of his labor with guests. It was not uncommon for visitors to leave with bags of calamansi, persimmon, tangerines, pomelos, avocados, and other delectable fruits from his bountiful garden.

Romy was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Emily, his father, Catalino Sr., his mother, Lourdes, and his brother, Virgilio. He is survived by his two sons, Eric and Don, Eric's wife, Indy, Don's wife, Lianne, his grandchildren, Mackenzie Rae and Maverick Clyde, and his two sisters, Rebecca and Opilla.

The family of Romy would like to thank all who have extended their love and support during this difficult time. Thank you so much for bringing joy to Romy's life. God Bless.
